Random Topic #2: Why do we close our eyes when we kiss?

Today's topic was suggested by another fan who will remain unnamed for safety reasons, and she suggested it be about why we close our eyes when we kiss our boyfriends or girlfriends?

When I've heard this question in the past, my automatic answer was because its rude to stare. That might be part ofi t, but I think it goes deeper than that. Love is the closest thing we have to magic, or at least that's what was said in the movie Aquamarine. I feel they were right about that, and I sort of wonder if its because you want to think of nothing but the kiss and who you're kissing.

Think about it, if your eyes are open, you're seeing everything in the room. Anything could distract you, thus making you either stop kissing them, or stop focusing on them. A kiss is a very personal thing, and most people don't realize it but the lips are the most senstive part of a human body.

I think eyes get shut to capture the magic, and try to keep it going as long as we can. Have you ever opened your eyes during a kiss? It sort of ruins the moment in a way, like you suddenly realize its real, not just a dream. You'd think that'd make it better, but it somehow doesn't.

We all want someone to love us like they do in the movies, and if you really love someone, and are kissing them, for a moment you can pretend you're in a movie, and are going to live happily ever after. That's just my take though, there may not actually be a reason past "its rude to stare".

Random topic #1: Bullying and homophobes

Before I begin on today's topic, I want to explain something real quick. As you all know, I post random blogs a lot. So, you may be wondering, "Ariel, why are you just now starting to say 'random topic'? They're all random." Well, the reason for that is, I really want to start writing something that matters to other people on this blog. Most of the things I post are just random things I thought of, but they probably don't really matter to anyone. I'm still going to have those a lot too, as I have no life and spend the majority of my day on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, all while listening to music.

I started thinking what if I took suggestions daily and wrote about it. Giving my opinuon and things like that. I made a comment to a fan (who'll remain nameless as I don't want to give her name away on the web...and I can't spell her name), that I wanted to begin doing this. She agreed that it was a good idea, so I asked her for some suggestions. Her suggestion was bullying and homophobes.

I feel the two can go hand in hand. I've seen a lot of gays, lesbians and bisexual people get picked on and shunned just for that alone. Its ridiculous if you ask me! To me, its no different than if someone likes chocolate cake or not. Its a preference, it doesn't effect you! Someone's sexuality doesn't effect you one bit, so why be afraid of it? I've personally never understood why people are afraid of gays. They're just like everyone else, just they happen to like the same sex. Its no big deal!

I am personally straight, but I support them whole heartly, as I've noticed sometimes they're the nicest people. Same thing goes for those who've been bullied. I myself was bullied some, but I watched my brother get picked on and beat up all through elementary school. He and I actually were pulled out of school in the middle of fifth grade to be homeschooled because the bullies were so bad. I had a girl "befriend" me, and then threatened to kill me after turning all but one person in my class against me for no reason other than I wasn't allowed to sing some stupid Britney Spears song in the school's talent show. My brother had a bigger problem, he was always picked on, and he had been called a piece of shit in class by a ten year old and then he got into trouble for getting upset.

I also remember when we were in third grade or so this kid was litterally beating up my brother. I've always been a small kid, always was the smallest in my grade, but I remember walking right up to this kid and yelling at him to leave my brother alone. Surprisingly, he did leave him alone, and I don't think he ever bothered him again after that.

That's really what it takes. Not all bullies will stop if just one person stands up to them, but teachers and parents really aren't lyin to you when they say there's power in numbers. If you know someone that's being bullied, don't just be a shoulder for them to cry on. Actually have their back, quite litterally have their back. Stick near them in the hallways at school, and if someone comes up to them and starts talking shit to them, just stand up and tell them off. Its dangerous, yes, but most of the time, they back off.

Bullies tend to be the ones with really horrible lives themselves, and instead of being the quiet kid in the back of the room who avoids talking to people because they don't want to be a bother, they react by taking it out on the world. I get that they're angry, but they need to realize that making other people miserable is not going to help them in the long run.

Bullying is a serious problem, and while it does get better, some kids never get to see that. Sometimes someone gets picked on so much that they can not longer see the good in anything, and just want life to end. Some of them actually suceed. That's not right, and I honestly feel like the bullies don't even care. They should because I feel that's sort of murder since they were the ones who pushed them to it. Its just horrible!

I like what Nickelback said best, "If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride, we'd see the day that nobody died." Its true! Basically all that is saying is if everyone was honest with one another and actually cared about people the world would be a better place.

Also, if you are the one being bullied, please talk to your friends, your family, anyone, and ignore what they're saying because clearly they don't have lives of their own, or the brains to know better.

Another thing too, before I wrap this up. If you don't feel comfortable talking to someone in person, you can call hotlines, or just post a message to the Music = Life wall. I try my hardest to help people in any way I can, and if you need help, I want you to know you can come to me, even though you don't know me. I won't judge or anything like that, I'll just give you some of my advice, if you wanted it of course.

Love who you are, don't change it to fit society.

The world is a fucked up place. Everyone knows that, right? The way society as a whole seems to think is so screwed up, it makes so many people feel insecure, but why? What's the point in that? I'm here to tell you something, ignore them! They're all insecure about something too, and generally its all about looks.

I'm not saying I'm not insecure about how I look from time to time, because I am. I look tweleve at eighteen and like to put crazy colors in my hair and wear emo makeup. Do I get stared at? Yes! Do I care? Generally, no. That being said I had to force myself yesterday to not care what people were thinking because I felt ugly yesterday. No makeup on, and I had a hair dying mishap that turned my entire head green. It was supposed to be turquoise streaks, and instead we messed up and bleached most of my hair, and most of it turned green. It was awful! Not even all of it was dyed either, you could see patches of the bleached areas still.

I honestly do hate it, but you know what? Its just hair! Its not for anyone else, its for you. So I'm going to fix it, and get it how I want it. Not because I don't want people staring, because I don't care. I can't control what others do, and if they want to look at me like I'm a freak, let them. I'm fixing it because I want it to look different.

What inspired this was a video on YouTube. Like that's a shock, most of my silly little tangits come from YouTube and songs. I just had to say something. Before you click the video below, just look at him. Ladies, he's adorable right? He doesn't think so, and I find that to be a shame. Too many people are good looking and feel that way, and I blame society. I really do. Watch the video, and I'll contiune talking....erm, typing.
Do you see what I mean? He's so self concious he stops himself from doing what he loves and that's not right! I feel like a lot of people are like that, and I don't understand why. I don't let anything stop me from what I want to do. Provided, how I dress and look actually fits my profession. When doing anything with the music business its overly encouraged to have crazy hair, band t-shirts, and sometimes Tripps.

The point to this whole thing is don't let the world effect how you feel about yourself. I know its way easier said than done, but it is possible. If nothing else, een think about this. For all you music lovers out there, keep in mind that even a lot of rockstars are insecure about something about themselves. For that matter, I've heard a few singers say they can't sing, but they do it anyways.

Nobody is perfect. Nobody! Not one person on this Earth is perfect. You know what? Your imperfections make you who you are. I'm not perfect either! I actually look like a stereotypical nerd with frizzy hair, glasses, fucked up teeth, freckles and pimples. I also get pissed off and annoyed when I don't have to be, I drop my phone all the time, I can't run to save my fucking life. All that and more is wrong with me, but without all those things, I don't think I'd be me. Keep that in mind, along with the fact that someone out there loves all of you. Whether its your boyfriend or girlfriend, your parents, or your friends, someone does. So, shouldn't you love yourself as is too?

All Time Low has been CONFIRMED for WARPED 2012

Rumors have been swirling around for months that All Time Low would be playing this years Vans Warped Tour. Nothing had been confirmed: until now.

All Time Low's drummer, Rian Dawson, stated the following to Pupfresh.com.
"Warped tour set question is tough, because we’ll only have 30-40 minutes (not sure what it is this year). I’m sure we’ll play coffee or jasey though.
Dude it’s been so weird playing this short of a set after headlining for 3 years, playing 90 minute sets. But exactly, it’s the only way to reach new fans, especially because we’re not radio compatible.
I think you’ll really enjoy the new record, I mean that, not just saying it. I appreciate the candid comment, and I understand where you are coming from.
PS - I’ll always throw a redditor on the guestlist."
That was found on a thread on Redditt.com, and I have included a link below.

So, who's excited out there? You can check out the full line up for Warped tour by going to their website, http://vanswarpedtour.com/. More bands are announced every Wednesday and the pre-sale tickets begin on March 30th. They officially go on sale on April 6, so go check it out. You may just want to go.

Keep in mind that Warped tour is not only a great way to see a ton of bands in one day, but it is also a great way to meet people. Even if you don't get to go to their signings, just keep your eyes peeled, you may just spot someone.

Some things have been brought to my attention

There's a few things I'd like to get off of my chest. Its nothing serious, so do not worry. I simply have come to realize that there is a few things very few people are aware of.  Please read on to learn more.

First off, I am a girl! A lot of you seem to assume I am a guy, and I still do not understand why, honestly. Mostly for the fact that I do "fangirl" a little over certain rock stars like Matt Good, Andy Biersack, and Jordan Witzigreuter, and do call them 'hot' and 'cute'. From time to time. A guy wouldn't do that, I don't think. Well, unless he was gay, then he might.

Second, my name is Ariel. I know I could clear up this problem by saying my name at the end of each post, but what's the point? I am the only admin, so honestly, I do not think about it. I'm going to not only post this link on the Music = Life page, but I am going to put a link to this blog in the description for the page. Just for future references, so there's no confusion. Of course, that is, if people actually take the time to read my blogs.

Lastly, I do have a website. I am not sure how, but not a lot of people are aware of that. In fact, 'Immortal Music' the blog began the same day as the website! Technically, the blog began posting first, because I wanted to keep people updated on what was going on as the site was being created. Immortal Music has been up since September 16, 2011, and for a while was very active. However, I have yet to be able to afford to pay for it, and now it likes to give me a ton of technical issues. Those issues tend to result in not allowing me to post anything.

To add to those issues, I change the layout with Photoshop CS3 and my computer about two months ago now, died, and while I think we saved it onto an external hardrive, I am having a hard time relocating my Photoshop. So, because of all of that, I've become very discouraged. I still try to do interviews, and post the news from time to time, but without being able to post it properly, half the time I end up losing what I just typed and have to restart the post several times. Ultimately, I tend to get fed up and give up for the day. I have been wanting to make the website more updated, but until things get fixed, I can't do it just yet.

I'm still trying to make a name for myself, and since my main goal is to be an interviewer for the most part, I constantly am trying to get more. Yesterday I searched for hours for the mangement of many people who'll be performing at Rock The Range on May 18, 19, and 20th in Columbus, OH. I already had the contact information for Emphatic, Adelita's Way, Theory Of A Deadman, and many others, but I found Marilyn Manson, and a few that are not on Rock The Range, like The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The one I am most proud of is Three Days Grace. I have been looking for their contact information for about a year now, since I decided I wanted to start doing this, and I finally found it. I am quite pleased, I just hope I found the correct one, and that they respond soon. :)

Now that everything is cleared up, and I went on a tangit about what I am still trying to do. If you'd actually like to see Immortal Music, please click here just do keep in mind that I haven't been able to update in a while.

Don't let the world define you.

Don't you just love when lyrics get you thinking? They seem to inspire my thinking a lot. Today, I was listening to NeverShoutNever, and I never really have before. Obviously, I know who he is, but I generally am not into that genre. I watched a couple interviews with Christopher Drew and decided I needed to hear more of his music, as I only knew "Happy."

One song, "On The Brightside", made me start thinking. "You're only as tall as your heart will let you be, and you're only as small as the world will make you seem .." What I took that to mean is as long as you have the heart to do what you want in life, the world can't define you.

Obstacles will always be in your way, so what do you do? Do you find a way around it, or do you give up and go home? Most of the time, people find a way around it, or through it, but some do give up. Sometimes you have to, but usually you don't have to give up, you simply choose to. If you choose not to, that makes you a bigger, better person. Which is why Chris says, "If you look on the brightside, you're roughly six feet tall."

Pyshcially, I am a small person. I am not even five foot, and yes, it bothers me greatly. Mentally though, I am six feet talls. I don't really let obstacles keep me down, but they're everywhere. If you let them get the best of you, you'll never reach your dreams. We all know I can't have any of that nonsense in my life. I am a dreamer, and one days most of them will be a reality.  Life doesn't have to be boring, and since you only live once, why not live it up?

Bryan Stars Sings!

Bryan Stars, a semi sucessful YouTube interviewer, has been told by fans countless times that he is a great singer. Fans are aware of this fact because from time to time in his interviews, news videos, reviews, updates or random videos he will sing snippets of songs. Now, he has taken that to heart, and has made another YouTube account, special for song covers he will be doing. The first one will be, "Your Favorite Song" by NeverShoutNever, and you can subscribe to the account now, right here.

If you have not already subscribed, you can also subscribe to his other two accounts, BryanStars and BryanStars2. Both accounts are used frequently, so you will always be getting updates. Whether its a music video, music video review, interview, behind the scenes of an interview, news, fan mail video, or a video jus to say "Hi", there's always going to be something.

Check out his latest video, which is talking all about the latest thing he's working on. Sometime today, the behind the scenes video of his second interview with Falling In Reverse's Ronnie Radke should be up. However, the actual video will not be posted for another week. Watch the video for more details.
Bryan Stars is a true inspiration, and I hope he contiunes to get the sucess he deserves. Many fans agree that he is infact, the best interviewer on YouTube.

I'm somehwat surprised.

I realize my blog is not popular, I do get that, but I am happy to see the blog I wrote up last night got six views. Its not a lot, but its still better than the usual ammount I get. That's one to none. The most views I've ever gotten is 11. Its not popular, but you know what? I still am going to keep writing these random little blogs. Eventually, I might reach someone, and even if I don't, at least I had fun doing it.

Plus, if anyone important (like a band, or manager) looks into my site and blog, I want them to see that I was active. The more material there is, the better chances of them realizing I'm pretty dedicated to what I want to do.  What also helps, the more I write, the more practice I'm getting.

I've been told I'm a good writer, but I feel like I'm nothing special. Not yet anyways. Yes, I do sometimes get ahead of the biggest rock music magazine in the country from time to time, but is that really anything special? I mean, I don't have an office, or even a 'professional' title. For that matter, I don't even have my own computer! I share a laptop and a desktop with the rest of my family. So really, I am a nobody in this business. I suppose its arguable that getting ahead of Alternative Press magazine when I work off of a computer that's techincally not even mine is impressive, but I find it to be just a reoccuring coincidence.

Some people have asked me where I find the news, and honestly, since I do not have bands coming to me with their news, I just find it from Facebook. They post a lot on there, and Twitter. You just have to spot the news quickly and talk about it.

Speaking of that, I will try to post the news today. :)

I Am What I am

Ok, so you guys may call me a loser for this one. I just got done watching the latest DCOM.  For those who don't know what a DCOM is, that's a Disney Channel Original Movie. Disney Channel used to refer to their movies as such, but they recently stopped that. I was greatly impressed, even though I thought it'd be just another High School Musical.

Given, I only thought that because in the commerical they say something about the status quo, and HSM has a song called Stick To The Status Quo. Its totally not like High School Musical in the least. Its all about showing the world who you truely are. I know, I know, most Disney movies and shows touch on that subject, but this felt more true to life in a way.

I've already explained to you guys who I am, in a way. Most of you know, I am just a girl with big dreams and goals who's obbessed with music. As I was watching this movie, I found myself thinking what part of me am I not expressing to the Interwebs? It seems like more and more these days that people are expressing themselves on the internet, but do you ever really know someone? That goes for in person as well, can you truely say you know anyone?

I like to think of myself as an open book. You ask me a question, and I'll give you my honest answer. One of my favorite words is 'bitch', and you know what? I'm proud to be one! My mother has always taught me that being a bitch is not a bad thing, under the right curcumstances. Nine times out of ten, when you're called a bitch, its not because you're being mean, its because you're speaking your mind and people disagree.
I'm a very opinionated person, I'm not afraid to get my point across, and you would defentily be wrong if you called me shy.

Nothing embarrasses me either. Sure, I'm not too quick to admit somethings, but it doesn't mean that I am embarrassed by them. I am who I am, and I am a complicated person. I don't care what people think for the most part, but that doesn't mean I don't care at all. Words do hurt sometimes, so yes, I have been insulted by things people have said to me.

I dress like an emo, punk, gothic, rocker chick. Not because I'm upset about anything, or because I hate my life, its only because I like the style. Sometimes that's the only reason people dress a certain way, not because they're trying to get attention, or express how they feel. Its sometimes just how they enjoy looking. Maybe I'm weird, but I love the looks I get when I go to Walmart dressed in all black with my Tripps, and music blasting. It amuses me to no end.

I feel people make too big of a deal out of how they look, and they worry too much about how people see them. Why do you care what people think? What really matters is what you think! If you think you look good, then you look good. Someone else will think so, even if you don't believe it.

Judgmental people and know it all's piss me the fuck off. Everyone has to judge someone at some point, but they don't have to judge every little thing about them. Or look down on them just because there's something about them that's less than fabulous. People who do that need to be high fived. In the face. With a chair. Its just pointless, if you ask me. What's even more aggravating is you know they'd hate to be judged the way they judge others.

Know it all's...well, they don't know everything, and need to stop treating me like I know nothing because I don't walk around acting like I know everything. I don't know everything, and I don't want to know everything. Imagine how boring life would be if you never learned anything new? I personally love learning new things! One of my favorite things to do every day is read these useless and random facts on Twitter. Its just fun to read something and go, "I never knew that! How interesting!"

I'm a dreamer and a realist. Meaning, I have big dreams, but I know I have to work to get them, so I do it. I set realistic dreams and work hard for it. Yes, I slack off from time to time, but if we're all honest, don't we all from time to time? Even the President of the United States probably gets lazy from time to time and just wants to sit on Facebook playing games and IMing people. Laziness is a part of life, you just have to know when the correct time for being lazy is.

Right now, I feel like I should be on the radio, or talking to a camera, not just typing. That's something else I feel I haven't mentioned in a while. One day, I hope to have my own webshow, and radio show. Yeah, I have a lot of dreams, and maybe they won't all happen, but hey, who knows? I want to have my own magazine and website, radio show and web show, this blog, of course Music = Life, and my own clothing company! Oh sure, its a lot, but that's why I will not be doing it alone. Over time, other people will come along who want to help. For now, there's nobody, so I make do with what I can.

All I have right now is a website that hates my guts, a Facebook page with only 497 people on it, and this blog that hardly anyone reads. Its not much, but I feel like I need to keep going, and trying to climb higher. Dreams are important to have because if you don't dream of what your life could be, you're going to get stuck in a life you don't want. Parents always want their kids to do better than they do, so if you love your parents, you're going to reach for the stars.

Not the sky, the sky is not the limit, the stars aren't even the limit. There's not a limit. One of my favorite quotes is "If the sky is the limit, than I'll build a bridge up to it. If I make it back, I'd still want more." I've quoted it so many times, you guys probably already know what its from, but its from "I'm Here To Take The Sky" by Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows. I have loved that line since the day I first heard it. That song is truely an inspiration, and I love it.

I suppose I can not explain myself in just one blog. Actually, I'm sure I could, but in order to do that, I'll be typing for another hour or more, and you'll be reading for at least two. I'd still miss something!

Who knows if I'm even getting through to anyone? I only know of one person who reads my blogs, and she doesn't count because she knows me. Now, I am being hounded to get off the computer, so I have to get off.

Immortal Music Fest!

I'm pretty sure I've talked about this before, but now I feel like I must do it again. Come on, you know you enjoy my weird little daydreams that I for some odd reason like to post on the internet. Oh, you don't? Sorry then, feel free to close this blog and go else where. I will not be offended.

I saw a fake line up for the Reading Festival 2012 that'll take place in Leeds, UK. It said some vastly different acts like The Jonas Brothers, Nickelback, Miley Cyrus, Tokio Hotel, ect. I should have realized it was fake, espeically when I saw Fall Out Boy, who've been on a break since 2009. It got me thinking though, because honestly, I'd love to see the Jonas Brothers and Nickelback at one concert, along with McFly, Selena Gomez, ect. So, I thought, who would I put on a lineup for a festival? If I was the one who got to set it up, as long as they agreed, I could get whoever I wanted.

I'm thinking I'd have it where everyone played a full or mostly full set, so it is pretty much guarenteed to be a long concert. That way, I do not have to pick a headliner, and if someone comes for this band, but not this one, at least the band they came for played a full set.

The main "headliners" will be: Jonas Brothers, Three Days Grace, Art Of Dying, Nickelback, and Avenged Sevenfold. I know the Jonas Brothers don't fit at all, but I'll balance it out somehow, plus, I love them.

Supporting acts would be: Mayday Parade, All Time Low, The Ready Set, NeverShoutNever, Falling In Reverse, Asking Alexandria, Escape The Fate, Emphatic, Adelita's Way, Safetysuit, Daughtry, We're All Virus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Black Veil Brides, D.R.U.G.S., Seether, My Darkest Days, Nick Jonas And The Administration, Joe Jonas, We Are The In Crowd, Shinedown.

I think it'd have to be a two day festival. Which means, I guess I could do it one of two way. Just mix them all up and decide who goes what days, or I could keep the "pop" bands seperate from the rock ones. If I did that, I'd have 17 rock bands, and only ten pop ones. I may have to think up some more pop-ish ones.

Tattooing is a family event? Since when?

I've been wanting to get my first tattoo for some time now, and I guess when I mentioned this to my Dad, it gave him an idea. He is a tattoo junky, he has at least nine tattoos, and is always wanting more. All his, except one that he got for me, are all comic book characters. Mom has one, a rose on her leg, but she wants to get a bracelet tattooed with the Avenged Sevenfold Deathbat in it, my brother wants a Legend Of Zelda Tri Force on his hand.

I don't think that's a good idea. Why on Earth would you want a video game tattoo? Espeically of nothing more than three triangles? It just sounds like a bad idea to me, especially if it is on his hand. Not only will that hurt like a bitch, but you can't really hide it if you ever need to.

As for me, I actually want two tattoos. My first one though, is going to be on my right side, and will be a treble clef (fancy music note) inside of a heart. I haven't decided if I want it to be colored in or not, but I probably will end up coloring it red. The other one I want will be across my shoulder blades, and in fancy letters, "Our scars remind us that the past is real." For those who don't know, that is a quote from "Scars" by Papa Roach, which I consider to be my "theme song". I do not feel as thought that will change anytime, as I think my weakness will always be that I care too much, no matter how much I change.

My dad actually says he wants to get us all tattooed. I am not sure when this will happen, but I know for sure sometime this year. Whether its here with my family, or in another state with my best friend. She wants to go get her first tattoo soon as well, and I may be going to visit her in April, and she wants us to go get our first tattoos together. Either way, by the end of 2012, I will get my first tattoo, and I can't wait.

I find it sort of amusing really. My 4'11, 100lbs self that looks tweleve at eighteen and a half, wants two tattoos and seven more piercings. I want my lip peirced, my tongue, my belly button, my nose, my cartilage in my left ear pierced, and two more holes in both ears. I already have five ears total between my two ears.

News!!! (SHOCKER, right?)

Ariel's posting the news -say what?! That's just CRAZY TALK, and why is this not on Immortal Music? Let me explain, my website hates my guts for whatever reason, and half the time actually refuses to let me post. I have no idea why, but I'm somewhat guessing that it might be too full again.

While I will figure out ways around this soon, I will have to do a lot of editting, and if I'm going to do that, I'd like to be able to change the layout. I can not do that until I get my Photoshop. Its somewhere on my external hard drive, I just have to find it and hope it still works.

So, I think I'll try to get back in the swing of posting news here, on the blog for now, and then I'll figure out what to do from there. Now, enough talk about me and Immortal Music, and on to the news.

Now that tour season is coming to an end, many bands are hitting the studio to record their albums. Three Days Grace has been working on their upcoming, fourth studio album. There's currently no information on the album, except there's a rumor swirlling around that it will be titled Venus. Also working on albums right now are The Ready Set, Blood On The Dance Floor,  NeverShoutNever, Pierce The Veil, and Asking Alexandria has talked some about it.

Blood On The Dance Floor's album, R/EVOLVE will be out on Valentines Day (Febuary 14) and can be sampled here.

NeverShoutNever's album will be called "Good Times", and will be recorded in Christopher Drew's home studio. NeverShoutNever also has released a new song, "Small Town Girl", which can be purchased on the band's website, and heard on Soundcloud.

Next week, Bullet For My Valentine will be hitting the studio to record their fourth studio album. It has also come out that later this year, Matt Tuck will be coming out with a solo project.

D.R.U.G.S has said they're going to begin production on their sophmore album in April, and Black Veil Brides has said the same.

Modern Day Escape has been talking about the work they've been putting into their new album, and they announced that it will be titled Under The Gun, and share the same release date of Shinedown's, Amaryllis. Both albums come out on March 27, and you can check out the Under The Gun artwork and track listing below.

All Time Low has announced that they'll be making another concert DVD, Straight To DVD 2 in a recent interview. They have also talked about the early workings of another album. Jack jokingly said they decided to call it, "Crazy Horny Panda." You can watch that video right here, if you'd like. (I recommend watching it, Jack and Alex are goof balls, and the questions are quiet funny.)

With Warped tour just around the corner, bands are being announced every Wednesday on the official website. Tickets go on sale April 6, and so far, the Warped tour bands are rather disappointing. With the exception of Mayday Parade, Blessthefall, Sleeping With Sirens, You Me At Six, Vampires Everywhere and a couple others, the lineup is not good. It may pick up though, rumors of All Time Low, We The Kings, Black Veil Brides, D.R.U.G.S and Falling In Reverse being on Warped this year have been spouting up. If any of them are on it, the line up will pick up. You can check out the Warped bands at http://vanswarpedtour.com/bands. Always keep in mind that every Wednesday at least five bands are added to the list.

Escape The Fate has announced that they'll be embarking on a tour with Attack Attack, Mest, The Word Alive and Secrets in April. Tickets go on sale on Febuary 10. What I am curious about, is to see if Max Green will be with them or not. Rumors have sparked up recently that Max may have rejoined the band.  While I have not had this confirmed or denyed yet, it may be true. Max still has 'Escape the Fate' in his description on Twitter, and Escape The Fate still has Max listed as the bassist for the band. You can check out the tour dates on its official website, here.

Today, Seether released a remix EP, which you can buy on iTunes. There's two remixes of "Tonight", then ones for "Country Song", "Fur Cue", "Roses" and "No Resolution". The EP is currently $3.99.

So there you have it, there's the news! Maybe I'll try to keep up with posting the news. Keep checking the blog back for random blogs, and news!!

I wanna make a difference

I was sitting here reading my old blogs. Yes, I just said I was reading my own blogs, I'm a loser, get over it. Anyways, I was reading my old blogs and I realized that everytime I write, I have somewhat of a reasons. Its not always a great reason, but there is a reason. I try to write with a purpose, and for a purpose. Sometimes I do not even know where it comes from, the words just sort of type themselves.

Ok, obviously I type them. If you're a writer, you probably understand what I mean. The words just come to me, they pour out like water from a pitcher. Not sure why, but that sounds like a bad analogy. Whatever.

I use this blog as somewhat of an online diary. One I can 'rant' to and talk about things with, while not really caring if anyone reads it or not. I've always kept a diary, and I guess in a way, I keep two now. I have one hidden away in my room, and my blog. I've been thinking lately, if more people would actually read my blogs, I could make a difference if I tried.

That's something not everyone actually realizes, everyone can make a difference. Even if you only effect one person's life, you still made a difference. Some people would not even be alive if it weren't for one person caring. Its sort of like Art Of Dying says, "Someone's living, because somebody gives a damn." Its the truth, honestly.

I'm not sure how I'd make a difference, I think it'd depend on what I wrote about. Some days would probably be better than others, but isn't that life? You do have to just take the bad with the good, and move on with life. Bad things will always be there, but you can not let them hold you down. You'll miss out on a lot of the good.

So, I am thinking of trying even harder to keep a daily blog, with a random subject every day.
Also, keep checking Music = Life, as I am still hoping to re-work all the plans for the site. I also may be making an announcement later for something else I may do.

Ok, what the fuck, society?

I was thinking about writing a blog about looks because of a Bryan Stars video, which you can view below, but now I feel I must write one because of an article I just read. It was shared by Rod Collins of the British band Ravenface, and normally I do not read articles people share, but this one I had to talk about.

The article talks about tattoos, and states, "So what’s more attractive than a girl with a nice body? I’ll tell you what: a girl with class. Looks may not last, but class does. And so do tattoos. An elegant woman does not vandalize the temple she has been blessed with as her body."

Excuse me, but how is it vandalisim? Explain yourself, woman! Tattoos, unless you get a drunken one, are generally chosen for reason. If you ask me, while yes, your body is a temple, your body is also YOURS. Do whatever you so please with it! Tattoos are rarely gotten without reasoning, and they can be very beautiful and even tasteful.

Tattoos are art, not graffiti. You can read the article right here and watch the Bryan Stars video at the bottom of this blog.

What I gathered from the entire article is that this woman is not only off her nut, but she has an old fashioned way of thinking about women. She basically just said in the article that women are supposed to work on their bodies to "improve" them, and they're supposed to flaunt it somewhat, but not too much or they'll be a slut.

Lady, this is the 21st century! I don't know about you, but I dress how I dress, and do my makeup the way I do because I enjoy it. Your little argument about "will you really get anything out of this?" is stupid. Not everything in life will teach you anything, or make you a better person. A lot of things in life are just done for your own enjoyment. There's nothing wrong with that, so why do you have to knit pick it? I'm 18, and I plan on getting my first tattoo this year. It won't be anything big, but I sitll want one, and if someone's going to look down on me for it, then they can fuck off. Its judgmental people in the world just like her that have screwed up society so much. I'm dead serious about that.

That goes with what Bryan was saying in his video. Some people are into the "emo" or "scene" or "gothic" look, and some people hate it. I personally, do dress "emo", or sometimes "goth", when I feel like it. I have really come to realize that people who dress in band t-shirts, black clothing, Tripp brands, and chains, and paint their nails black, and put crazy colors in their hair are some of the nicest people.

A good share of them have been picked on, or been through a lot of hell with their friends or family. A good majority of the people who dress that way turn to music for strength, to be there when nobody else seems to be. Some people dress that way because they feel like nobody accepts them anyways so why not just dress weird. I don't dress like that for such a reason, I just do it because I like it.

My favorite outfit is a pair of Tripps, a band t-shirt, my knock off converse, and dark makeup. A lot of people feel that way, but yet a lot of the world actually look down on those who dress that way. Its not right. The world is too judgmental.

Its people like that article lady who drive people to sucide. I bet anything she was a bully as a child, or a snob. You know, that one girl who always dressed so "prim and proper", and would come to school with her hair perfectly done and sucked up to the teacher? Yeah, we all knew a kid like that.
Fuck going to the gym, and changing your hair style just because you want a  change. That's not always enough. I will always be the one who will change my hair color, get pierced and tattooed and shops at Hot Topic and Spencers. The one who goes to concerts and will strike up conversations with total strangers soley because I knew have something in common. There's nothing wrong with it. We all are, who we are and we should be proud of it.

Assholes. People are assholes.

Everyone knows about the assholes in the world, and no I do not mean the litteral ones. I mean the people who are just rude and hateful for no good reason. I just got word that Alex Gasgarth from All Time Low got boo'ed of the stage last night in Southhampton in the UK. The poor guy lost his voice while on stage, and people threw a fit. There's nothing he could have done about it! Once your voice is gone, its gone for a little while. Alex even Tweeted just after the show apologizing. "So bummed about my voice tonight. Sucks to feel like you're helpless up there. Thank you all for singing so loudly. Xoxoxo".

The fans out there probably made poor Alex feel like shit. He probably already did, and then probably got a bit frightened when he opened his mouth to realize he had no voice. I am pretty sure that's a singer's worst nightmare. Everyone knows a singer's voice is important, and how shitty it feels to suddenly lose it, so why did people feel it was nessicary to "BOO" Alex off stage? Fucking dicks. Do people seriously not realize that rockstars, even if they do sometimes seem superhuman, are indeed only human?

Think about it. In the past year alone, I personally know of two people who have passed out on stage, and countless ones that said they went on stage feeling like death because they were sick. Think about that for a moment, when you're sick, what do you do? Most of the time, you try your hardest just to lay and sit around, and do nothing until you feel better. While, they can't do that. Unless they're like puking up blood, or are so woozy they can not stand up, they go on stage, and still have to somehow find the strength to give the fans all they've got.

I've never understood how they do it, honestly. Just last week, I saw a video of Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides pass out right on stage, from what I'm assuming was exhaustion. You can only get so comfortable on a tour bus, the bunks are smaller than a normal twin sized bed, and you only stop every now and then to actually sleep in a hotel.

People need to realize how much they scarfice for their music, and for their fans. They give up practically everything. Some of them, even give up their homes. Some fans need to actually step back and realize that, no matter how easy you think they have it, they don't. You have it easy, going to work ot school every day, then coming home to be with family, friends or just sit on the computer. They go all over the world, just to make people happy, and have to get back on a tour bus that is usually no bigger (and actually more cramped) then a trailer you'd find in a trailer park.

Everyone gets sick, even them. They're not robots, or a fictional character on TV, or a true 'God', they are human. They will get hurt, get sick, or just get flat out exhausted, and somethings will happen. People need to just accept that, and learn to support them even when they have to cut your show short, or even cancel it. They probably feel awful about it, and when they cancel a show, they generally honor it in some other way.

For anyone out there, that has witnessed a band having to cut a show off early due to illness or injury, remember that they probably don't want to. Remember that they often try to contiune playing even when they really can't. Hell, Andy Biersack tried to contiune playing a show with three broken ribs and then again with a broken nose. That's down right dangerous, but he tried.

They're dedicated. Married to the music. It is their lives, but sometimes natural things get in the way of life. Respect them for what they do, and what they try to do, don't try to make them feel worse than they probably already do.

Anyone want to help me get an interview? (Espeically the BVB Army here!)

A lot of you know this, but I do try to interview bands. I haven't gotten very many interviews yet, but I'm doing fairly well for someone fully on their own with this, and only been trying about a year. I don't ask for help with much, I do over all want to know I suceeded on my own.

Sometimes, however, you do need some assistance. Today, I was on Facebook, looking up more contact information for bands, and while I was looking at my list, I saw the Black Veil Brides' manager's email. I forgot about it, but I had emailed them at the beginning of the Buried Alive tour they were on with Avenged Sevenfold in late November of 2011. There was never a reply, and while I do think my chances are slim to none, maybe if people really tried to raise some awareness I could get it.
This brings me to my request. If you all could please, go to Black Veil Brides Facebook, and send Tweets on Twitter to, @OfficialBVB, @JakePittsBVB, @ccbvb, @JinxxBVB, @AshleyPurdy, and @AndyBVB. If you're going through Facebook, please send a message with a link to Music = Life AND Immortal Music, saying something along the lines of "Hey, you guys should do an interview with Ariel May. It'd be awesome, and she'd appericate it." Something like that, feel free to paraphrase. Or if you're going through Twitter, please say they should do an interview with me, and link my personal profile, @ArielMay527 as well as my Immortal Music Twitter account, @ImmortalMusic27. By the way, feel free to follow both of those.

I do plan on emailing him/ her (I'm not sure if their manager is a guy or a girl, all I know is their name is 'Jamie') sometime this evening, so if you all could share the link to this blog on your pages, profiles, whatever you want. Tumblrs, Twitters, anywhere you could possibly share it, I'd appericate it. Also, please leave a comment (on Music = Life) telling me if you've shared it and where you've shared it. I'll post a thank you note or something in the next day or so acknowledging your assistance.

Thank you in advance to anyone that helps me out. If get this interview, I'll make sure to point out just how much the BVB Army really does care about them, and all that. The interview will more than likely not end up being in person, or if it does, it'll be whenever they go back out on a North American tour, and hit up Florida. Thank you guys, I do appericate it, probably more than you know.

I am apparently a concert whore

I go to a lot of concerts, its sort of what I live for. Or at least, that's what it feels like sometimes. Not only did I try to go see Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows on their first ever headlining tour last night, and I tried to go see Falling In Reverse on January 21, but I am already planning out other concerts.

I would love to go see Nickelback on tour with My Darkest Days, Bush, and Seether on May 5, Daughtry with Safetysuit in April, Warped tour not once or twice, but three times. Warped tour, times three is actually my friend's idea. Two days so we can make sure to see everyone we want, and one day just so we can meet anyone we want.

There's a lot of people I want to see this year that I have yet to, and some I'd love to see again. I've already seen a lot of bands, and some I don't care if I ever see live again, but I want to see Three Days Grace for a third time, and see Mayday Parade, Art of Dying, Black Veil Brides, Emphatic, the Jonas Brothers, and Shinedown all for a second time. Chances are, at some point I'll also see Avenged Sevenfold for a thrid time, just because my mom adores them, and I wouldn't pass up a concert.

Then there's a ton of people I'd love to see this year. Nick Jonas And The Administration, The Ready Set, All Time Low, Nickelback, Seether, Blood On The Dance Floor, D.R.U.G.S, Falling In Reverse, and a ton more. I just want to make this year a bigger one than last year. I hope to interview everyone I see, even though that's highly unlikely, espeically if I go to Warped tour.

Oh speaking of Warped tour, there's some big rumors going around All Time Low and Falling In Reverse will both be playing the main stage for Warped this year. More bands should be relased sometime today on the Vans Warped tour website, so I guess slowly but surely, we'll find out if those rumors are true. I've been hearing the rumor about All Time Low since November, and I'm beginning to suspect that it is totally true. My friend heard it directly from someone who has toured with All Time Low (I forget who at the the moment), and that night You Me At Six confirmed they'll be on Warped. It also just came out that Mayday Parade is going to be on it as well, and they too have toured wtih ATL before, so I am seriously thinking its true.

If it is, I am defentily going at least once. I plan on going anyways, its a major opprotunity to meet not only the bands themselves, but their manager and crew. People never think about the fact that the managers can actually tell you a lot of stuff about the band. So if you're going for the same dream I am, do not be discouraged if you find a band's manager, but can not get to the band themselves. Take the time to talk to the managers, they can be a big help to you.
